On January 3rd, 2018, Microsoft started releasing security updates due to newly revealed CPU security flaws referred to as Meltdown and Spectre. For this reason, Cyren has prepared a hotfix update which will perform the necessary validation and then make sure all Windows security updates can resume to protect against the Meltdown and Spectre security flaws.
Microsoft’s security patch against Meltdown and Spectre brings critical changes to memory management within the Windows operating system. Although Cyren antimalware products are not impacted by the changes, Microsoft nevertheless requires all antivirus software vendors to push an update to their products to verify that they are compatible.
